 The Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute

Dr. George Kantor, System Scientist at the Robotics Institute is the lead of the technical development for this project.  George has been active in developing advanced multi-hop sensor nodes for use by the horticultural industry since 2003.

George and the team from the Robotics Institute are working with the Decagon Devices team to develop a new generation sensor network that can be used for irrigation control in the most intensive of horticultural applications. The approach is to merge the CMU and Decagon systems, taking the strengths from each to create a superior commercial product.
